I know most of you are sick of hearing about Obama, and are tired of the whining, because you're right, after all he is soon going to be our president and we're stuck with him...did I say that?

Thought I'd try (try mind you) to keep track of all the stuff he does to piss off us conservatives. Let's hope for the sake of our nation this thread dies soon because of lack of new material. And yes, it is presumptive of me to think that what pisses off conservatives is bad for America.

Less than a week as president-elect, or whatever:

1. Has a nifty Office of the President-Elect sign made up with a sort of Presidential Seal on it. There is legislation for the transition, and it does mention the President-Elect, but after looking around on the 'net, the 'office' itself (as a bureau of some sort) is BS.

2. Insults elderly, just-out-of-the-hospital Nancy Reagan by implying that she held seances when actually it was Hillary Clinton who had done that. Ah...the spirit of 'reaching across the aisle', 'post-partisanship' and all the other dung being fed to us.

3. Hires Rahm Emanuel as White House Chief of Staff-Clinton re-tread whom Dick Morris says is his #1 priority (that is, Emanuel's #1 priority is himself)
Quote:
(Dick Morris said on Fox News' Hannity and Colmes (11/6) last night said that former President Bill Clinton "constantly cut Rahm out. He was afraid of him, because Rahm was always in business for Rahm. ... Obama is making a huge mistake in picking this guy because whenever he does something this guy doesn't like, he is going to read about it on the front page of the newspaper."
. From Hot Air dot com:

Quote:
Emanuel’s action, or lack of it, came during a time when the SEC says Freddie Mac misrepresented its income to investors in order to maintain its price. In other words, they committed fraud. The SEC specifically notes that Freddie did this in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and Emanuel sat on the board in 2000-2001.

For an incoming administration that ran on cleaning up the greed on Wall Street, the selection of Emanuel speaks a lot louder than any campaign promises. One might think that anyone who sat on the boards of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while the two GSEs cooked the books and set the stage for global financial collapse should at least be considered political poison for any appointment, let alone one as significant as White House Chief of Staff — if nothing else, then at least on the basis of competence. Instead, it looks like Obama is bringing the Chicago Way to Pennsylvania Avenue.

4. John Podesta (yet another former Clinton man) as the head of the transition team-Obersturmbanfuehrer of the Center for American Progress. He is a big proponent of the 'Fairness Doctrine' which seeks to shut down conservative talk radio shows.

By John Dyer, MSN Money
It's time for investors to prepare for change under Barack Obama.

No, the Wall Street meltdown isn't over. Main Street is still sinking into a recession. Portfolios are still getting hammered. But there's no doubt the new president will create different economic conditions that could present opportunities for investors savvy enough to spot upward trends.

Barring a major international incident or terrorist attack, few doubt that Obama's first order of business as chief executive will be to address the country's economic crisis. Ideally, analysts say, bold new leadership will bring a new sense of optimism.

Rahm Emanuel talking to a guy about the Obama Sturmabteilung:

http://hotair.com/archives/2008/11/12/audio-the-obligatory-rahm-emanuel-talks-ab out-compulsory-civil-defense-service-clip/comment-page-1/#comments

Interesting comments below the sound clip.

Lot's of, uh, shall we say, Second Amendment discussions going on on Hot Air dot com in reaction to this.

Shocked

Quote:

SMITH: I meant to ask you about the universal service piece of the plan. Can you tell me about it? Like, how is this going to work? Are people going to live in barracks?

EMANUEL: Universal Civil Defense Training…I think he had it at 18, but we were saying somewhere between the ages of 18 and 25, you will do three months of training. You can do it in your(inaudible). Some point in college you can do just that. There can be nothing wrong with all Americans having a joint similar experience of civil …what we call civil defense training or civil service…some sense of service to country in preparation, which will give people a sense of what it means to be an American. We propose three months. At the end of the day someone says it should be four more. I’m not going to sit here and hold it up.

SMITH: I mean it’s a lot more than the U.S. government asks of anybody right now.

EMANUEL: Guess what? We have a lot more challenges, so we are going to need a lot to do it.

SMITH: I mean I don’t mean to get hung up on the aesthetics of it, but like uniforms…is it like Europe…people go absent

EMANUEL: If you’re worried about going to have to do 50 jumping jacks, the answer is “yes.”

SMITH: Are you kinda shifting the “country-esque” Army bases in the Summers? I mean… I wonder how it’s going work. This is people’s experiences. It’s so abstract. Do you go nine to five in some course in a Red Cross building?

EMANUEL: The whole idea there is it will be worked on you can do it through your State-National guard could be the vehicle for that. The goal here (inaudible) to work on piece of legislation for ya’ and all that, but that’s one venue of doing it.

Smith commented on the NY Daily News blog about Emanuel’s reaction to his curiosity on the “universal service”:

We also talked a bit about his new book, The Plan, written with Bruce Reed, and particularly about his argument for instituting some kind of universal service, in the form of civil-defense training. He found my interest in whether there will be barracks more amusing than I’d anticipated.

The mainstream media continues to ignore this plan, which is not necessarily unusual for them. However, considering the amount of youth voters who lined up for Obama this election season, it is truly unfortunate they are the last ones to find out about this “requirement” of the new Obama administration. The audio is uploaded at Eyeblast.tv.

I remember discussing on this forum a while back the subject of a civil defense not required to go to war.

Now the idea sounds scary.

Quote:
Ayers: Obama was 'family friend'
New afterword to 2001 book, Ayers describes Barack Obama as 'family friend'

“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.

But right-wing commentators tried to use those connections to smear Obama, he says.

“Obama’s political rivals and enemies apparently saw an opportunity to deepen a dishonest narrative about him, that he is somehow un-American, alien, linked to radical ideas, a closet terrorist, a sympathizer with extremism,” Ayers wrote.

OK, so doesn't this mean that Obama was simply lying?

But, cynical 'ol me and reading the Lib's comments on this, they are spinning away and leave me no choice but to believe that even if Obama had owned up to this, it wouldn't have made a bit a difference. Paradoxically, even though he has been caught in a major lie, it still doesn't make any difference.

Some real BS going down here. Twisted Evil

William Ayers: Just Radical or Unrepentant Terrorist?

It seems Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama’s terrorist pal, Bill Ayers - who openly takes credit for bombing attacks around the country including explosions set off at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol - has somehow morphed from the 1960’s unrepentant terrorist into simply a ‘radical.’ How’d that happen? Read more about it and watch a video below.

Obama transition tangled in ties to lobbying
Dozens of former influence seekers are among those getting jobs

By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK
THE NEW YORK TIMES
updated 8:43 p.m. PT, Fri., Nov. 14, 2008

WASHINGTON - President-elect Barack Obama has imposed stricter conflict-of-interest restrictions on his White House transition team than any president before him. But a list of transition team members that his office made public on Friday includes a complicated tangle of ties to private influence-seekers.

Among the full roster of about 150 staff members being assigned to government agencies between now and Inauguration Day are dozens of former lobbyists and some who were registered as recently as this year. Many more are executives and partners at firms that pay lobbyists, and former government officials who work as consultants or advisers to those seeking influence.

After campaigning on promises to end the influence of lobbyists in the White House, Mr. Obama has imposed rules that bar officials on his transition team from handling any issues in areas of policy where they have lobbied over the last 12 months or from seeking to influence the same agencies for the next 12 months.

Obama's transition team chock full of bundlers
Public interest advocates say fundraisers appear to be at 'front of the line'

By Matthew Mosk
Washington Post
updated 3:01 a.m. PT, Fri., Nov. 14, 2008

WASHINGTON - Though they worked behind the scenes in Barack Obama's campaign for president, bundlers who raised millions of dollars for his White House bid are starting to land significant posts on his transition team.

At least nine of the volunteer fundraisers whose wide networks of colleagues, friends and relatives gave more than $1.85 million to Obama are now positioned to help the president-elect set foreign and domestic policy and identify potential Cabinet appointees.

Chicago real estate executive and close friend Valerie Jarrett is a transition co-chair. She raised more than $100,000. Penny Pritzker, a billionaire heiress to the Hyatt hotel fortune, is a top economic adviser. She chaired Obama's finance effort and raised more than $200,000 herself. Julius Genachowski, a Harvard Law School classmate of Obama's who serves on the transition team, is a high-tech executive and was legal counsel to former Federal Communications Commission chairman Reed Hundt (another bundler on the team). Genachowski raised more than $500,000 for the campaign.

Obama flip-flops on having lobbyists in his administration...am I allowed to say flip-flop and Obama in the same sentence or is that a new Federal crime? Confused

Quote:
Obama's ethics rules for lobbyists
By JEANNE CUMMINGS | 11/11/08 2:52 PM EST

his may be the final, final, final set of rules for lobbyists in regards to the transition and administration of President-elect Barack Obama. Maybe.

Since the waning days of the campaign, the Obama campaign has been sending mixed signals to K Street.

For a long time, lobbyists thought they couldn’t get a job in an Obama Administration considering all the speeches against “special interests.”

Many were surprised to hear on the final weekend of the campaign that they actually can get a posting in the Obama White House. They just won’t get jobs related to an issue they advocated for on Capitol Hill.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1108/15515.html

As one commenter put it on another forum, this may be a sign that at the least Obama is just another sleazy politician rather than a wild-eyed Marxist after all. Of course, we have no choice but to wait and see.

Check out this web site. It explains Obama's plan to create a civil service unit using our teen agers and young adults. When this plan takes affect all middle schoolers, high schoolers and any one attending college between the ages of 18-25 will be required to attend a three month boot camp and be trained to work as service men to protect our country. They will also be required to spend up to 100 hours a year in community service. If you have ever tried to go to school or college and hold down a part time job at the same time you would understand why this is not going to be a very easy task for many. Obama is bringing change all right. But is this the change we were looking for?

A video of a 2006 interview with now-Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for president-elect Barack Obama reveals plans for mandatory induction for all young adults into a civilian "force."

Yeah, I went on YouTube and posted on a couple copies of that Rahm Emanuel radio interview about the Obama Hitler Jugend. LMAO. These teens, tweens, and twenty-somethings aren't liking it....HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Here's something else...just when I think it's going to be quiet, and I'm up in arms about nothing, and everything's going to be fine with this administration, I run into something like this:

Quote:
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

My 8th grade son is in an advanced English class at a public middle school here in Racine, Wisconsin. I just found out that my son's new (copyright 2008) Wisconsin - McDougal Littell Literature book has 15 pages covering Barack Obama.

I was shocked - No John McCain, no Hillary Clinton, no George Bush - Just Barack Obama. I'm wondering how it is that Obama's story gets put into an 8th grade literature book? It would be one thing, if it was just the tidbit about his boyhood days, but 15 pages, and they talk about his "Life of Service". Honestly, what has Obama really done to be included in this book? Not only that, but on page 847 there is a photo of Obama at the 2004 Democratic Convention with at least 8 Obama signs in the background! Front & center is an www.obama2004.com sign.

Now I understand that many teachers are liberals, but does the school have the right to shove Obama down our kid's throats? All the kids grouped together and read the story. After that, they discussed it... I guess it appears that Obama is planning ahead. If he doesn't get his coveted Presidency, Obama is going to make sure, that the younger generations know all about him, and his "life of service".

If you would like to see the 15 page story on Obama, it appears that you can order this book online. There is a note in the book that says, For more on Barack Obama, visit the Literature Center at www.ClassZone.com The book is: Wisconsin - 8th grade - McDougal Littell Literature - copyright 2008. The Obama story starts on page 830. I hope you will take the time to look at this book. I'm really angry about this - In fact, I would love to rip the pages right out of this book.

By the way, you might find this interesting: I did a little checking on McDougal Littell, and it appears that MCDOUGAL, ALFRED L CHICAGO , IL 60611 - N/A/RETIRED has been making contributions to Barack Obama's campaign!

I found that information on this website.
http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=IL&last=MCDOUGAL&first=ALFRED
Now I'm not an expert at these things (just a PTA mom), but It looks to me like Alfred McDougal is connected to McDougal Littell the same company that publishes the 8th grade textbook that has 15 pages on Obama. Like I said, I'm not an expert, but I'm sure you have someone who can delve into the dirty little details.

I guess my question is: Is it ethical for an Obama supporter to publish an educational book which has a 15 page Barrack Obama story in it? If the tax payers are paying for these books, why is it okay for McDougal Littell to promote Obama? This really bothers me. I would have no problem with it, if Obama had actually done something important. Why is Obama being put up on a pedestal, before he actually wins the pedestal? All I can say, is we can thank the liberal media, and now the liberal book publishers. Thanks to them, I'm sure there are probably thousands of these books all across the United States.

http://realdebatewisconsin.blogspot.com/2008/10/racine-schools-hand-out-textbook -with.html

Fifteen pages devoted entirely to Dear Leader? Incredible. It's not bad enough that from the textbooks I've been seeing over my career as a teacher that they have already been glossing over the 'hard stuff'. General impressions and ideology matter more to these Ward Churchill and Bill Ayers 'educator' types. And it's them and their cronies who have been f-ing up our public education since at least the 1960s.

Man, I need to get off of the internet...really, really depressing. Crying or Very sad

Just ran into this:

Quote:
Obama appeals to devotees in Virginia:

I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here, but we’re going to have to work. We’re going to have to struggle. We’re going to have to fight.

And here is an exerpt from the writings of Chairman Mao:

The ill wind of opportunism is falling, the righteous wind of socialism is on the rise.

By the end of this year the victory of socialism will be greatly assured. Naturally there will be many struggles ahead and we must struggle hard.
